Current Position:

I began my teaching career at Augusta Middle School in 1999 teaching 7th Grade American History.  As times changed, I moved to 8th Grade American History and continue teaching American History from Colonial Era thru Reconstruction.

Previous Position:

I graduated in the Fall of 1998, so the spring of 1999 I covered two long term substitute positions.  For the first 9 weeks I covered 1st grade at Ewalt Elementary in Augusta, KS.  During this time I learned how to keep 1st graders in the hallway for 2 hours while the Haysville Tornado occurred.  My 2nd nine weeks of the semester I jumped to 8th grade English at the Augusta Middle School.  A couple of weeks into this experience the Columbine shooting occurred in Colorado.  We at AMS had our own scare and spent a day up at the high school, while the building was being searched from an outside group.  This was a unique way to start my education career.
