Graduated from Jackson Heights High School in Holton, KS in 2008.
Graduated from Ottawa University in Ottawa, KS in 2013.
BA in Biology with an emphasis in education.
I began teaching at AMS in the fall of 2013. This is my fifth year. I teach 7th grade science. The 7th grade science curriculum includes Earth’s Surface, Cells and Heredity, Water and the Atmosphere, and Ecology and the Environment. I taught 6th grade science for two years at AMS, and have been teaching 7th grade science since.
I grew up on a farm in a small town in Northeast Kansas. While growing up, I enjoyed playing sports, being outdoors, and traveling. I have a twin brother, a younger sister, and a younger brother. My spare time is often spent outdoors, traveling, or playing games.
Basketball is my passion, but I also played football, cross country, and track in high school. Cross country and track landed me my scholarship to Ottawa University to run and get an education.
The love for playing sports is the reason I coach at the middle school. I currently volunteer coach for cross country. I also coach track during the spring, where I coach high jump and middle distance runners. During the winter, I am the head 7th grade boys basketball coach. I love coaching and finding ways to make athletes better themselves.
