•  Army of the Potomac is fighting General Lee and his Virginians in the area known as the Wilderness for its great forests. Mark dies.
• Jonas kills Preacher Wells, and is injured
• Jonas is taken to a hospital in D.C..
• John goes home to Geyser Hill, VA. Bring Mark’s ashes. Defends the family farm. Matt is killed. Matt and Mark are buried.
• Jonas comes to Geyser Hill to explain his kiss with Kathy.
•  September 1864.  Elmira Prison.  Luke is doing very badly. Kathy, Jonas, John, and Emma free Luke.
• Lee surrenders at Appomattox Court House.
• Washington D.C. President Lincoln is shot at Ford's Theatre.
• John and Kathy marry at the Geyser farm house on Geyser Hill, VA.
