AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. This is a class available to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who apply and are accepted into the program. In class, students learn skills and behaviors necessary to be academically successful in rigorous courses. Two days a week, students participate in Tutorials to help support their work in rigorous courses and further develop positive relationships with peers. When not working in Tutorials, students work on AVID curriculum to develop their desire for personal achievement through hard work and determination. AVID applications open in October to all 6th grade students for 2nd semester. Applications are due by Wednesday, October 28th.
