About Me

Educational History:

High School: Trinity Academy (2010-2014)
My educational journey began at Trinity Academy, where I took my first steps towards a world of learning and exploration. Those years were a time of discovery, where my curiosity was nurtured, and my passion for knowledge started to bloom. I engaged in various extracurricular activities such as choir, theater, and STUCO which helped shape my interests and set the stage for the next chapter of my academic journey.

College (Undergraduate): Emporia State University (2014-2018)
I eagerly entered Emporia State University (Stingers up!), excited to dive deeper into the subjects I loved.  I embraced challenging coursework, forged meaningful connections with professors and peers, and explored avenues beyond the classroom that expanded my horizons. It was during this time that I felt a calling to teach others and pursue a career in education.

College (Master’s): Emporia State University (2021-2023)

After completing my first three years of teaching at the Augusta Middle School, I returned to Emporia State to obtain my Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction / Effective Practitioner. I was determined to push my boundaries even further and contribute meaningfully to my chosen field. The pursuit of my Master's degree was a challenging yet immensely rewarding endeavor. Juggling coursework, research projects, and personal commitments demanded a level of dedication I hadn't known before. My academic journey pushed me to think critically, analyze deeply, and contribute thoughtfully to the ongoing discourse in my field.

Degrees and Certifications:

B.S. in Education

Master of Science (Curriculum & Instruction / Effective Practitioner)

Current Position:

I embarked on my teaching journey at USD402 in 2018, and I've been fortunate to be a part of this dynamic school district for 5 years now. From the moment I stepped into the classroom, I knew I had found my calling, and the supportive and innovative environment at Augusta Middle School has only reaffirmed my passion for education.

At present, I am dedicated to teaching 8th grade science and 7th grade AVID to my enthusiastic and engaged students. Guiding them through these subjects and witnessing their growth and understanding brings me immense joy and fulfillment. Every day, I'm inspired by the unique perspectives and potential each student brings, and I am committed to fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

As an educator at AMS, I am not only focused on imparting knowledge but also cultivating critical thinking skills, encouraging curiosity, and nurturing a supportive classroom community. I believe that education is a lifelong journey, and I am honored to play a role in shaping the future of my students.

In the ever-evolving landscape of education, I am excited to continue my role at Augusta Middle School, where I am empowered to innovate, collaborate with fellow educators, and make a lasting impact on the lives of my students. The journey of teaching is an ongoing adventure, and I am eager to see where it leads next.
