I began teaching English at Augusta Middle School in 2004 after subbing in the district for over 10 years. I currently teach English and the AVID elective in a job share position with Tammy Cox. 

I began my teaching career in 1984, taking a one semester high school English position.  I then spent 3 years working in a Level 2 TMH position in Wichita, KS.  

I later taught 4 years of elementary school:  3^rd grade in Olathe, KS and 5^th grade in Wichita, KS.  I then took an 11 year hiatus from full-time teaching to raise my two children. I returned to the classroom in the 2^nd semester of 2004 and have been there since.

I married my husband, Jim, in 1984 and we have two children, Jared and Emma, who both graduated from Augusta High School.  They are both married. Jared and his wife, Madison, have a son, Kellan;  Emma and David (also an Augusta grad) have a daughter, Harper and a son Sterling.

Now that both of our kids are out of the house, Jim and I are raising a very active chocolate lab, Finley.  My favorite activity when I am not teaching is playing with my grandchildren.  I also enjoy traveling, reading, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family.
