2023 – 7th grade ELA
I began my teaching career in 1985 in the Altoona-Midwayschool district where I taught at various grade levels. I served as the middle school ELA/reading teacher and building level literacy leader from 2001-2005.
From 2005-2008, I served as the Director of Kansas Reading First. This was a collaborative statewide professional development initiative between Emporia State University, The University of Kansas, and the Kansas State Department of Education.
From 2008--2022, I served as an associate professor at Emporia State University where I taught courses in reading, TESOL, content literacy, and instructional leadership.
During the 2022-2023 school year, I served as the Secondary Reading Specialist/MTSS Coordinator/Literacy Coach at Andover Middle School.
